2018-20 Prescriber Bag Supplies Book

Prescriber bag supplies books can now be ordered – if you order before 25 April, the book will be delivered in June. Eligible prescribers can use this to obtain some PBS medicines for emergency use for patients. A reminder to practices that only typed prescription order forms will be accepted – order your Prescriber bag supplies order book.

The Red Book – Updated

The Department of Health has recently updated the Red Book which provides guidance on commercial relations between general practices and pathology services.

Changes to the Red Book include:

  • Removing references to the regulations being new (the Red Book was originally published in 2008 when the new regulations were introduced).
  • Information about the compliance and enforcement strategy and its implementation.
  • Inclusion of examples of scenarios in which issues with rents have been identified by or to the Department of Health.
  • Questions and answers in the Q&A section on submitting leases following changed arrangements and reporting inappropriate practices.
