Third Party Consent

To comply with Australian privacy laws, practices must obtain consent prior to a third party being present during a patient’s consultation. This consent should be documented in the patient’s health record so there is a record of who was present at the time of the consultation.

If the patient has previously given their consent, you must check if this is still valid before they have their consultation.
